It pretty much arrives assembled; all you have to do is put in a couple screws and you're done.

What we like: This solid wooden unit makes for a very strong and durable chair. The glider is very customizable and has 8 different fabrics and 6 wood finishes that you are able to pick from making this chair a rare find; since it allows you to be able to match the chair to any home decor you already have. There is a pocket on the side of the Stork Craft Hoop Glider making it easy to store items for you and the baby. The seat width is around 20 inches making it pretty roomy for all those late night feedings. This glider is easy to assemble, and the armrests come with padding. With its curved shape, the glider can fit into the corner of even the smallest nursery.
What we don't like: The back of the chair is not very high, which makes it not that comfortable to fall asleep in. But it depends on how tall you are. It is also quite heavy, at 50 pounds.
The Stork Craft Hoop Glider is very reasonably priced and perfect for those not looking to break the bank with a glider. The price ranges between $100 - $200, and can be bought at Amazon, and other retailers as well.
What we like: The Mikayla is a great alternative to a traditional rocking chair, as it gives you reclining, gliding AND swiveling functionality in one elegant design. It has a 360-degree swivel function, and you recline by just the push of a button. The spring-core foam seat is another great feature, giving you nice comfort. It is also extremely spacious, and suited for tall mama's and papa's. This is a chair that will look great after the baby years in any room, and become everyone's comfy chair.
What we don't like: This is an extremely heavy chair compared to the rest: a whopping 103 pounds! It also does not have any storage pockets, which can be a life-saver if you have to switch between various baby stuff (and a good book).
What we like: Made of polyester and removable, it is very easy to clean the seat cushions, arm rests, back rest and the ottoman cushion. It also has a wide seat and high back, which makes sure it fits any size parent. The padding is nicely done, so you have plenty support if you nod off.
What we don't like: There unfortunately are no sidepockets with this chair, which we loved so much in other chairs.
What we like: Another great example of a chair that will transfer effortlessly to other rooms, once the baby days are over. Also, because the base is made of very sturdy solid wood, rocking in this chair gives a more old-style rocking chair feeling. While at the same time it has a very non-traditional, creative design. The ottoman is also very sturdy and suits the chair beautifully.
What we don't like: You have to pay separately for the ottoman, so beware of this when you check the current price. No storage pockets, and the back is a bit too low for taller folks to fall asleep against.
What we like: Though it's not a top one for us, it is hugely popular among many parents. This is largely due to the wide range of motion you have in the Babyletto. Also, it doesn't take up a lot of space, and doesn't look at all like a nursing chair. So we included it just in case you prioritize those features 🙂
This chair offers a 360-degree swivel, so you can easily change the way you are facing. This glider is pretty small which makes it easy to fit into the smallest of nurseries, and can even fit into that tight corner of the nursery. The Babyletto Madison Swivel Glider comes in several dark colored options, and the fabric is microsuede which makes it easy to clean. The fabric is also water and stain resistant. This chair will also look great any other room of the house with its modern style and feel. The circular back rests on a metal base, and it comes fully assembled, so all you have to do is take it out the box and put into the nursery.
What we don't like: The rounded back of the chair height is pretty low, making it not the best choice to fall asleep in. Actually, we can't imagine anyone sleeping in this chair (except for the baby in your arms). But it does have a very spacious seat and is very comfortable to sit in. And it swivels like a boss.

Now you might be thinking ‘why do I need a special chair, wouldn’t any chair do?’ but when you have been up late every night you will want to have the best and comfiest nursery chair there is. Believe me, nothing is worse than sitting with back pain and cramping up in your arms while trying to get your breastfeeding going.
When I found my chair, it quickly became my favorite chair in the house (and still is!). I have used my recliner for just about everything, whether I was just holding and rocking my baby to even feeding time.
Now I am not saying that a nursery chair is a magic fix, but on those nights when my little girl was being super fussy, we would both fall asleep in that chair and in the mornings I would wake up less sleep deprived.
Whether you are a new parent or a seasoned parent expert, the idea of buying a recliner or some other type of chair has crossed your mind more than a time or two. Many of you have probably spent hours searching the internet, and reading review after review about the best chairs on the market. While others may have been listening to other parent’s opinions about which chair is better, and why.
In my opinion, you can get overwhelmed by all the information when it comes to setting up a nursery. Take time to decide for yourself what are the MOST important qualities for you, and focus on those. Here's something to help you along:
Then make sure that you get the chair, and the nursery all set up before the baby comes. Trust me on this, you will be way too exhausted to function, let alone think or have time to find one after the baby is born.
